Capitol Punishment

Alone, in a dark room, I await my sentence,
Theft my crime,
Mother walks in, like an executioner,
A leather belt dangles, from her hand, like a cat of nine tails,
Screams pierce the air,
Ill tempered as she be, I alone stand strong as the intrepid warrior,
Pain erupts across my back,
My treatment intensifies,
Whimpering, weak
I drop to my knees,
Pushed from behind, I fall to my face,
Tears soak the carpet as I cry,
I am angered,
At the fact that I am a senseless criminal,
It is my fault,
The cookie was not mine to take
Whipped again
"I am sorry" I plead,
A devilish grin creeps over her face,
My back aches,
Welts form, blood drips,
I feel hate,
For being six,
Angering mother,
I should not have taken,
What’s not mine.© Dunn
